The buzz this year at Hannover Messe Fair is around "The Integrated Industry".  One of the key technologies that's enabling this convergence is unmodified Ethernet being deployed to the factoryandplant floor.  Cisco's core strategy for the industrial market is to accelerate the adoption of open standards by partnering with organizations like ODVA.  Cisco is a founding member of the ODVA and has enjoyed a mutually beneficial relationship for close to 10 years.
