The Food and Agriculture Organisation of the United Nations (FAO) signed the ethical resolution on artificial intelligence (AI) entitled 'Rome Call for Ethics'. The resolution calls for a 'highly sustainable approach which also includes the use of artificial intelligence in ensuring sustainable food systems in the future'. Speaking at the launch of the call, Qu Dongyu, Director General of FAO noted that much hope is placed in digital technology such as AI and big data from a food system transformation perspective.
