The National Communications Authority (NCA) in Ghana recently cautioned the public against utilising Starlink services within the country due to the absence of licensing and equipment approval. Reports surfaced regarding unauthorised sales and usage of Starlink equipment, prompting the NCA's warning.
The NCA emphasised that companies activities in Ghana contravene regulations governing electronic communications services. Consequently, the public has been advised to refrain from engaging with purported equipment or services. Furthermore, the NCA directed individuals involved in selling or operating these services to cease their activities.
This issue extends beyond Ghana, with other African nations such as South Africa, Zimbabwe, and Senegal also issuing warnings against unauthorised operations by the company.
