The US trade association, Information Technology Industry Council (ITI) issued recommendations for IoT policy principles aimed to guide governments, industry partners, and other stakeholders involved in securing Internet of things (IoT). The guide details the following recommendations: focusing on the broader ecosystem and not just device security alone; developing and utilising industry-driven core baseline capabilities and standards; avoiding regulatory fragmentation; and promoting global harmonisation.
