Uber and Lyft have launched in a joint action the Industry Sharing Safety Program as an attempt to improve users' experience and safety in the US. The program is a first official attempt in which the hide-hailing companies compromised to share information about the drivers and delivery workers deactivated from each company's services for serious safety incidents, including sexual assault and physical assaults. In addition, Lyft and Uber will share information about workers' deactivations linked to the five most critical issuers listed in the National Sexual Violence Resource Center's Sexual Misconduct and Sexual Violence taxonomy. The Chief Legal Officer at Uber said that 'safety should never be proprietary. You should be safe no matter what ridesharing platform you choose'.
