NEC Corporation and the Japan Agency for Marine-Earth Science and Technology (JAMSTEC) have partnered to develop an artificial intelligence (AI) tool that will monitor the levels of microplastics in oceans. The tool will employ high-speed AI image recognition and evaluate the impact of microplastics on marine life.
