UNECA partners with telcos to develop Africa Communications Intelligence Platform in response to COVID-19

The UN Economic Commission for Africa (UNECA) partnered with several telcos in Africa in order to launch the Africa Communications Intelligence Platform. The Platform will be deployed in at least 23 countries and will be used to share information on COVID-19 and to conduct surveys on health symptoms. Data obtained through the Platform, and scanned by artificial intelligence (AI) technology, will be used to help national actors and ministries in fighting the pandemic.
