Association for Geographic Top-Level Domains founded

Operators of several geographic top level domains (gTLDs), such as .nyc, .london, .berlin, and . tokyo have announced the creation of theInternational Association for Geographic Top-Level Domains (GeoTLD Group). The association aims to promote geographic TLDs as 'essential components of the digital infrastructure, benefiting stakeholders of a location, language or culture'. It also intends to contribute to making more cities, regions, and communities aware of the advantages of their own local Internet identity, through sharing the experiences and best practices of its members.
