The Ministry of Education, Government of India has issued an advisory to Parents and Teachers on children's online gaming. Few of the recommendations include, keeping an eye on what the child is doing online, using parental control, having open dialogue with children about the games and playing age appropriate games and advising against speaking to strangers, discouraging in game purchases without parental consent, taking screenshots if something wrong happens, reporting incidents
Concerns have been raised on the suggestion in the advisory of using spyware and internet gateway applications to monitor content on the internet in a bid to curb excessive online gaming.
