UNESCO has initiated global consultations on the development of a standard-setting instrument on Open Science. The standard-setting instrument which is expected to be in the form of recommendations will address the availability, accessibility, and openness of scientific data and information. The initiative is led by the Open Science Advisory Committee and the final outcome on Open Science is to be adopted by UNESCO member states in 2021.
