I've been testing what is decidedly the best Yeedi robot vacuum and mop I've used so far, theYeedi S14 Plus , and have been impressed from the beginning.Thisrobot vacuum and mop features some of the strongest suction on the market, an intelligent navigation process, and a self-cleaning mop roller, all housed in a hands-free charging dock.

Now, if you read often and think you're experiencing deja vu, you're not. The Yeedi S14 Plus is physically very similar to theEcovacs Deebot X8 Pro Omni I recently reviewed, down to the robot's build and mop roller technology. That's because Yeedi and Ecovacs are sister companies, with the former capitalizing on creating more entry-level and budget-friendly alternatives to the more upscale Ecovacs robots.
The new Yeedi S14 Plus features strong 18,000Pa of suction power, a self-washing mop roller that only mops with clean water, and a self-emptying dustbin.
Though both robots performed very well in my home and are priced similarly, there are some notable differences. The Yeedi S14 Plus is currently discounted to$950, while theX8 Pro Omni sells closer to$1,170. The Ecovacs robot also has a built-in AI assistant for voice control, with which you can interact via messages, like ChatGPT, and a detergent dispenser, both of which the Yeedi lacks. From my vantage point, most of everything else is about the same.
Even my three-year-old played 'spot the difference' with the Ecovacs Deebot X8 Pro Omni (left) and Yeedi S14 Plus (right).
The S14 Plus robot vacuum, while heavy, is packed with some of the best cleaning technology available. It has a zero-tangle system with a triangular brush that directs hair to the nozzle without wrapping around the brush. The system is so effective that the robot has kept my floors free of my dogs' shed hair for weeks without once getting stuck on pet hair.
Once it has gathers all the hair, dust, dirt, and debris on my floors, S14 Plus goes to the dock and empties its contents into a replaceable dust bag that you don't have to swap out until it's full, which can be up to about two months.

The mopping system appears to be the same as the X8 Pro Omni; an OZMO roller mop created by another sister company, Tineco.
This type of roller mop has separate clean and dirty water tanks within the robot. Clean water is constantly sprayed on the roller mop while it spins on your hard floors, and the mop is simultaneously scraped and wrung to remove the dirty water, which is directed to a dirty water tank.
The robot then returns to the dock to wash its mop pad, empties the dirty water into the charging station's dirty water tank, and refills its clean water automatically to repeat the mopping process as needed.

For some reason, I noticed a plastic smell emanating from the Yeedi S14 Plus' charging station after all initial cleaning sessions. I ensured I removed all plastic packaging before use, but the smell was so overwhelming that it triggered a migraine on my first day using it, which is less than ideal. The smell has dissipated with subsequent uses, and I haven't seen reviews mention it yet, so I'm hoping it was a problem with my unit or sensitive nose.
I'm not typically bothered by new product smells, but this burned plastic smell was very difficult to ignore. Thankfully, it appears to be a thing of the past, and the Yeedi S14 Plus is done triggering my migraines.
I tested the robot vacuum and mop's ability to tackle stains by letting a spilled coffee mark dry and running the S14 Plus. The robot can detect stains and messes in real time to adjust its cleaning tactic and clean until the stain is all but gone. It also exerts downward pressure to ensure strong scrubbing force on your floors and remove these stains.

When going over soft floors, the robot lifts its mop roller by 0.39 inches, which is about 10mm.Thisis enough to keep short and some medium-pile rugs and carpets dry.
The Yeedi S14 Plus robot vacuum and mop cleans really well in cluttered areas and its roller mop can tackle stains that traditional microfiber pads and dual rotating mop heads cannot, including dry coffee and juice stains. Instead of spreading the dirt and stains around, the rotating mop head ensures the mess is suctioned up into the robot's dirty water tank.

The robot is also very efficient in mapping and vacuuming, with strong suction power and the ability to leave your floors pet hair-free. Considering how well this robot performs for only$950, getting a Yeedi S14 Plus would be a definite upgrade for almost any current robot vacuum user.
