Main European Union institutions agree upon cybsersecurity rules

The European Parliament and the Council of the European Union have agreed on a final version of the Network and Information Security Directive. Under this pan-EU legislation, Internet companies such as e-commerce websites, serch engines and clouds will be required to ensure the security of their infrastructure and services and to report major incidents to public authorities. It seems, however, that micro and small digital companies will get an exemption. For details, see the press releases of the European Parliament, of the Council and of the European Commission.
