Verbraucherzentrale Bundesverband eV v Planet49 GmbH the Court of Justice of the European Union (CJEU) has delivered apreliminary opinion on consent to use cookiesby the end users. CJEU has noted that consent must be specific, so that the fact that a user selects a button is not sufficient for valid consent to the storage of cookies. According to the CJEU, the service provider must give to a user information on the duration of the operation of cookies and whether or not third parties may have access to those cookies.
