UK Home Secretary Amber Rudd has admitted that extremist material is spreading online at such a fast rate that UK security services are unable to keep up. According to the new minister, Internet companies as Google, Facebook and Twitter are not doing enough to stop terrorist propaganda. She explained that 'At the moment we are taking down 1,000 a week of these sites -[this] is too slow compared to the speed at which they are communicated', pleading for an 'industry standard board' that can 'take action much more quickly'. Rudd's comments were echoed in last month's Home Affairs study, which accused Internet companies of 'consciously failing' to tackle online radicalisation.
