UN rights chief responds to Trump's comments on media

UN High Commissioner for Human Rights Zeid Ra'ad al-Hussein stated that US President Donald Trump has 'a heavy responsibility' noting that Trump's negative comments about the US media could hurt journalists in other countries as well. More than 350 newspapers defended the role of journalism in response to continued anti-media rhetoric, including Trump's calling the media 'the enemy of the American people'. The US Senate unanimously passed a resolution condemning the attacks on the free press.
