The World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO) launched a new online business service called WIPO PROOF. It provides tamper-proof evidence to prove the existence of a digital file at a specific point in time, by creating a globally recognised digital fingerprint which is dated and timestamped. The evidenced content includes trade secrets, scripts, musical scores and other creative works, research results, large data sets, artificial intelligence algorithms, or any business record, regardless of whether these eventually become formal intellectual property.
