According to ZDNet, the Brazilian Senate has reinstated the original timescale for the introduction of the new data protection legislation in 2020. As part of a remote voting session, the new data protection law is expected to enter into force in August 2020 as initially planned, while sanctions for non-compliance will be enforced from August 2021 onwards.
