India's Ministry of water (Jal Jeevan Mission at the Ministry of Jal Shakti) sent a letter to all States/U.T.s for rolling out sensor-based IoT solutions to monitor water supply in rural areas. The letter details the progression of the project starting from August 2019. According to the letter, each state will receive a report titled "Roadmap for the measurement & monitoring of water service system in rural areas". The report will provide a framework to design, develop and establish a water monitoring system. The letter urges the states to start the project implementation and set a support unit to lead the project.
