According to the Irish Examiner, the Irish Data Protection Commission is assessing TikTok's plan to establish a data center in Ireland. TikTok must be assessed to see if the company meets the criteria needed to avail of the same One Stop Shop (OSS) data processing mechanism currently given to other tech companies such as Facebook, thus making the Irish Data Protection Commission the lead supervisory for GDPR compliance.
