Shortly after Google released its new website -Project Baseline -to provide access to COVID-19 testing sites, many now express privacy concerns. According to Forbes, Project Baseline's privacy policy confirms the site collects users' personal information. It also confirms that in order to access certain "restricted" parts of the website, and to access the app, people must "have and log in with a Google user account." One medical expert quoted by Forbes accused Google's site of being "one huge data mining operation", designed to collect health information for commercial purposes, and potentially infringing HIPAA privacy laws. Concerns are also raised by the fact that appears that information shared with project Baseline can also be shared with other health companies.
