New Russian bill requires encryption backdoors in all messenger apps

According to media reports, a new bill in the Russian Duma proposes as mandatory cryptographic backdoors in all messenger applications in the country. Applications which offer encrypted messages are targeted in the 'anti-terrorism' bill, says RIA Novosti. Encryption backdoors would enable the Federal Security Service to obtain access to all communications within the country.
