The New York Times sues FCC for the refusal to release records on the net neutrality repeal proceeding

20 сентября 2023 года Hi-network.com
In June 2017, the New York Times made a Freedom of Information Act (FoIA) request for Federal Communications Commission (FCC). In this request, the newspaper asked for the server logs related to the system for accepting public comments on the net neutrality repeal proceeding. Since then, the FCC refused to release the records repeatedly. Therefore the New York Times sued FCC in US District Court for the Southern District of New York. According to the Times' complaint, the records "will shed light on the extent to which Russian nationals and agents of the Russian government have interfered with the agency notice-and-comment process about a topic of extensive public interest: the government's decision to abandon "net neutrality.
