According to the International Association of Privacy Professionals (IAPP), the French data protection authority CNIL has published guidance for local authorities regarding data registers used to alert people in the case of emergency situations. Local authorities must notify residents about the purpose of registers and must take all precautions to guarantee data's accuracy and security.
